Dear Parents/Carers

Re: My Child at School – MCAS

I hope that you and your families are well. As we strive to improve the quality of  communication with parents and carers, I would like to remind you that we have now fully implemented the Bromcom ‘My Child at School’ system in the academy and we would like all parents and carers to access their child’s record using the ‘My Child at School’ web portal and mobile app – MCAS.   Our aim is for  this system to become the backbone of our communications with parents and carers and want it to become the main platform used in all communications with you on all school matters. It is important that everyone uses this system to access key information about their son/daughter’s learning experience. The MCAS app will support your child’s learning by allowing us to keep you informed, message you and allow you to receive information from the academy about your child’s behaviour, after-school detentions, progress and attainment, and other announcements. All student’s progress reports are already provided to you electronically via MCAS.

We hope to make further pages available to all users in the coming months. If you have any questions please contact the School Office. The mobile app, which is available for both IOS and Android devices, allows us to contact you in just the same way as the current text system, but without the cost of each message and so helping to protect academy finances, and will also alleviate the amount of emails and letters that we send home.  To help you to get you become more familiar with the functions on MCAS, I have attached a link to the the MCAS parent’s guide here MCAS Parent guide

If you download either the Apple or the Android  MCAS app, it is important that in your settings on your device that you enable your notifications. This will ensure that you receive all important messages and communications from the academy and that you are kept up to date with your son/daughter’s learning experience.

Please note that if you have downloaded the MCAS app you will no longer receive SMS text messages from Longfield Academy, Bromcom is able to detect which parents/carers who have downloaded the MCAS app.  I hope that you find this new platform useful and informative. Thank you for taking the time to sign up and use this system and for your continued support. For any questions regarding login details for the Bromcom ‘My Child at School’ please email data-exams@longfieldacademy.org

Yours faithfully
