Pupil Premium

What is the purpose of Pupil Premium?

“Pupil premium is funding to improve education outcomes for disadvantaged pupils in schools in England. Evidence shows that disadvantaged children generally face additional challenges in reaching their potential at school and often do not perform as well as other pupils” – Department for Education

How are Pupil Premium funds calculated?

All Pupil Premium funding is calculated by the government. By visiting this government webpage, you can see the most up-to-date figures on what is being provided to schools. It is important to note that the Pupil Premium funds are provided to the academy (or in some instances the local authority), not parents/carers. The Department for Education stipulates that funds are not a personal budget for individual pupils. Further information is available on this government webpage.
