Charity Events this Festive Season

Two Longfield Academy students are pictured dressed in their academy uniform and smiling for the camera. A small group of students can be seen in the background behind them.

Dear Parents/Carers,

As we approach the festive season, it is important to consider those both in our community and beyond, who may be anxious about rising costs or other living concerns. I would like to bring to your attention to charitable events that the Longfield community is running this module in order to raise money, awareness, and support a local charity.

Christmas Jumper Day – Thursday 8th December

The Academy will be taking part in the Save the Children Christmas Jumper Day, to raise money for the charity. On Thursday 8th December, we invite all students and staff to wear a festive jumper to school for the day, and provide a donation to the charity which can be collected on the gate. The suggested donation is £1. If a student is wearing a festive jumper, they will not need to bring or wear their blazer, but all other uniform policies and standards will still apply.

Collection for The Community Cupboard in West Kingsdown

This festive season, Longfield Academy would like to take an active part in supporting the Community Cupboard by asking for donations from students, staff or anyone wishing to contribute. The Community Cupboard is a registered charity which offers a range of services, including a food bank. For more information about the charity, including the services they provide, you can visit their website by clicking here.

For our collection, we can accept any ‘cupboard food’ or toiletry items except medication, bleach based products, alcohol, razors or food which is perishable. Please drop any donations to reception or Mrs Mulholland in the Spectrum Centre. Last day for donations is Wednesday 14th December. Thank you!

Yours faithfully,

Mr M. Lowe
Assistant Principal
