Year 11 Information Evening

A sixth form student working on their laptop in the library

Dear Parents/Carers,

As your children enter Year 11 we feel that it is vital that you are as informed as possible about the expectations of the year, the opportunities that will be available to support the students and how we can work together to make sure we are helping the students as best we can.

On Tuesday 18th October, from 5pm – 6pm we will be providing subject-specific information about core subjects and how to support your child with their GCSE studies. In addition, there will be guidance for Post 16 study, online revision resources and apps for different subjects, practical advice for revision and stress management and suggestions for how to engage your child in the process.

During the evening there will be an opportunity to respond to questions. It would be helpful, if you have a specific question or concern that you would like us to address for all parents, if you could email it to me in advance so that we can ensure that it is covered during the evening: farai.punungwe@longfieldacademy.org

I would urge you to attend if at all possible, especially considering students will not receive any pre-release materials as students did last year, so this will be a great opportunity to gather vital support information.

I very much look forward to seeing you on the 18th October.

Yours faithfully,

Farai Punungwe
