We have arranged for our school minibus to do two journeys on the mornings of Monday 5th and Friday 16th, to help parents/students.
We will pick up as below in the morning:
- Redhill Wood – 07:30 and 08:00am (the minibus only seats 15 students so two trips may be necessary)
- North Square – 07:35 and 08:05am
Afternoon drop off times:
- Redhill Wood – 3:30pm
- North Square – 3.35pm

Dear Parents/Carers,
We have been informed today that Arriva bus drivers will be on strike next week Monday 5th September and also on Friday 16th September 2022. We are sharing this information with you now so that you are able to make alternative arrangements if your son/daughter normally uses Arriva buses. Our understanding is that no buses will be running on these days, including school buses. Students who use the 489 to and from New Ash Green will be particularly affected.
Longfield Academy will be open as normal. We understand the difficulties that this strike will create for parents and carers, however it is our expectation that you make every effort to get your child to school. Where possible, we would encourage parents and carers to car share, both to support other parents who might find this difficult and also to reduce traffic which is likely to be significant.
The school site will be open from 7.45 am in case pupils need to arrive early. They will be supervised in the Helix. We will also arrange for students to be supervised after school until 5pm should parents need this.
