Year 11 Maths & English Parental Revision Talk

Dear Parents/Carers,

I hope you have had a restful and enjoyable break. As we move into this busy term for our Year 11 students, with the start of their GCSE exams, it is important that our students know exactly how to revise, what to revise and when to revise. We have been doing a lot of work with our students on this and will continue to do so in preparation for their exams. It is also important that you know how you can support your child through this time which can often be a stressful time for students.

I would like to invite you to a Maths and English parental revision talk on Wednesday 27th April starting at 5pm. This should last no longer than one hour. During this session there will be a talk on how you can support your child in general with their revision and supporting them throughout the exam period followed by a talk by our Director of Learning for Maths and Director of Learning for English on how you can support your child specifically in those two crucial subjects.

You have been selected to attend this meeting as your child has been identified in our latest data drop as needing to secure either an English or Maths grade at a grade 4 or 5. Securing both English and Maths at these grades gives your child greater opportunities moving forward as these are the grades that lots of college/sixth form courses require as well as lots of jobs and apprenticeships.

I hope you are able to attend this event and that it is beneficial for you to help further support your child over the last two months of Year 11.

Thank you for your continued support.

Kind Regards,

Mark Shaw
Vice Principal
