Update: COVID-19 weekly testing
We have received correspondence from the Department for Education (DfE) asking us to temporarily pause plans for the daily contact testing element of our testing programme. This means that those identified as coming into contact with positive cases in schools will now be required to self-isolate for 10 days and cannot attend school with the view of having 7 consecutive days of testing as previously advised.
The DfE has, nevertheless, emphasised the need for schools to regularly test their staff and pupils so that we can help to ‘break chains of transmission during this period’. I can confirm, therefore, that we will go ahead with the weekly COVID-19 testing that we have been preparing for. On Friday 22 January, we will begin our weekly testing of vulnerable pupils, the children of critical workers, and staff who are currently attending school. We will be supported each week by two fully qualified Health Care Assistants.
If your child is currently attending school, physically, and you would like them to be tested on Friday 22 January, and weekly thereafter, please make sure that you have provided us with your consent by 9pm on Thursday 21 January. You can find links to our online consent form at:

I thank you for your continued support.
